Bishop Creek Recreation Area
Bishop Creek has become a favorite vacation area, with several high-altitude lakes and miles of creeks for fishing. The terrain is ideal for hiking, photography and mountaineering.

Death Valley National Park

Devils Postpile National Monument
The Devils Postpile formation is a rare sight in the geologic world and ranks as one of the world’s finest examples of columnar basalt. Its columns tower 60 feet high and display an unusual symmetry. Another wonder is in store just downstream from the Postpile at Rainbow Falls, once called “a gem unique and worthy of its name.” When the sun is overhead, a bright rainbow highlights the spectacular falls. Inyo Craters Mountain Bike Ride
The Inyo Craters ride begins at the junction of the Scenic Loop and Inyo Craters Road. Riders will go to the edge of one of the Inyo Craters. A guide will talk about the geology of the Inyo Craters, the most recent volcanic event in Mono County. These gaseous explosions happened about 600 years ago.
