Anderson Marsh State Historic Park
Anderson Marsh State Historic Park contains oak woodlands, grass-covered hills, and tule marsh. One of the largest groups of people in prehistoric California, the Southeastern Pomo, knew this land as home. Today, descendants of those people still live nearby.
California State Railroad State Museum
The California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento is the world-class tribute to the role of the "iron horse" in connecting California to the rest of the nation. The museum features 21 lavishly restored locomotives and cars, some dating back to 1862. There is a full-scale diorama of an 1860s construction site high in the Sierra Nevada as well as a bridge elevated 24 feet above the museum floor. A block from the museum is a reconstructed passenger station and freight depot circa 1867. Clear Lake State Park is on the shores of California’s largest freshwater lake. The area is popular for all kinds of water recreation, including swimming, fishing, boating and water-skiing.
Old Sacramento State Historic Park
Old Sacramento State Historic Park. This park is a portion of the Old Sacramento Historic District, all of which has been designated a National Landmark. The history of Old Sacramento is a fascinating story that goes all the way back to the earliest years of the California Gold Rush. In keeping with this history, California State Parks owns and operates a number of original and reconstructed buildings as part of Old Sacramento State Historic Park. UC Davis Arboretum
The Arboretum is a living monument, an outdoor classroom for students, teachers and visitors and a 100-acre museum.This public garden contains 4,000 types of trees and plants that live along the banks of the old North Channel of Putah Creek. Visitors may participate in classes that take them on a comprehensive tour; which can help gather ideas for their own gardens while learning how to care for their plants in an environmentally friendly way.
