The Point Sur State Historic Park and Lightstation is located 19 miles south of Carmel along Highway 1. This wonderful central coast California landmark, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Lightstation is located at the top of a large volcanic rock, 361 feet above the ocean. It was first lit in 1889 and is the only turn-of-the-century Lightstation open to the public.
