he Exotic Feline Breeding Compound
Home to over 70 of the world's most endangered felines, EFBC/FCC is a breeding zoo and research facility. Funds received are used for the care and support of the compound's animals and long-term goals, which include a natural history museum and public education programs. Mojave National Preserve
The Mojave Road is an east-west route that enters the park near Piute Spring on the east side and on Soda Dry Lake on the west. Used as a trade route by Indians, the route later served the cause of westward expansion. Today it is a popular 4-wheel drive route Call 760-252-6100 for more information.

Mojave River Valley Museum
The museum houses a series of displays and exhibits that portray the history of the Mojave River Valley from, the arrival of Father Garces in 1776 on through pathfinders, pioneers, miners, railroads and the present space program. In nearby Barstow. Call 760-256-5452 for more information.

Red Rock Canyon State Park
Red Rock Canyon State Park features scenic desert cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations. The park is located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converge with the El Paso Range. Each tributary canyon is unique, with dramatic shapes and vivid colors. After wet winters, the park's floral displays are stunning. This winter was very dry so the wildflowers are more sparce this year, but the beauty of the desert, combined with the geologic features, make this park a camper's favorite destination. Wildlife you may encounter includes roadrunners, hawks, lizards, mice and squirrels.

Route 66 Museum
The Museum displays a collection of historic photographs and artifacts related to Route 66 and the Mojave Desert Communities.
