Spring is just around the corner in the Shasta Cascades region of Northern California. It's the season for snowshoeing through Lassen Volcanic National Park; cross-country ski seemingly endless trails around Lassen Peak; and for a climbing challenge try Avalanche Gulch on Mount Shasta.
