Historic Placer County Courthouse
This is a grandiose three-story Classic Revival structure topped by a bracketed cornice and simple Renaissance Revival inspired dome. This building is listed on The National Register of Historic Places.

Lake Clementine
Lake Clementine was created when the North Fork Dam was completed in 1939 by the Army Corps of Engineers as a debris dam. The dam rises 155 feet above the foundation and has a crest elevation of 718 feet.
Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park
James W. Marshall discovered gold in 1848 on the South Fork of the American River in the valley the Nisenan Indians knew as Cullumah. This event led to the greatest mass movement of people in the Western Hemisphere and was the spark that ignited the spectacular growth of the west during the ensuing decades. The gold discovery site, located in the still visible tailrace of Sutter's sawmill, in present day Coloma California, is one of the most significant historic sites in the nation.
Placer County Museum
The Placer County Museum is located on the first floor of the historic Placer County Courthouse. The featured exhibit, the Pate Collection of Native American Art, contains artifacts from all of California, the southwest, the northwest coast, Alaska and the eastern United States.
