The city of Redding sits in far Northern California. A visit to Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay Museum and Arboretum is a must for first time visitors - from the Certified Organic Turtle Bay Farmer's Market, to the Grossology exhibit, everyone is sure to have a good time. Another must visit is the Shasta Dam, which arches across the Sacramento River. The Dam is 602 feet tall and an astounding 3,460 feel long - making it the largest dam in the United States. Spend an afternoon boating, fishing, and relaxing Shasta Lake. A beautiful mountainous region, the waters are pristine, the air is clear and the weather is perfect. The McArthur Burney Falls Memorial State Park is ideal for taking long hikes and bike rides. The park is located just northeast of Redding, six miles north of Highway 299 on Highway 89. Be sure to read all signs before entering.
Check your calendars for annual Redding events, including the Shasta Lake Trout Derby, and the Redding Rodeo.
