Visit San Mateo

Found just inland of the San Francisco Bay, San Mateo is ripe with Spanish-era history. located just off of the U.S. Route 101, and a just a few miles south of San Fransisco International Airport, San Mateo is a lively suburb of San Fransisco.

The Japanese Tea Garden is the oldest Japanese garden in the U.S., and is located in Central Park. A Koi Pond where the kids can feed the fish. The Ryder Park & Aquatic Playground is the perfect spot to visit with the family during one of those hot summer days. San Mateo also features plenty of golf. The Peninsula Golf & Country Club, Green Hills Country Club and Burlingame Country Club are all in very close proximity to down town San Mateo - call ahead and reserve a tee time. Or, for a more relaxing afternoon in the sun, pack a picnic basket and head to Coyote Point County Park. And for the sports fan, be sure to check out the 49ers of the NFl, as they play in Candle Stick Park. Also head to AT&T Park and take in a afternoon ball game as the Giants of MLB battle the rest of the NL West.
