Cruise the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz

Situated at the northern edge of Monterey Bay and just off of the State Route 1, Santa Cruz is a surfing city located just 40 minutes south of San Jose and less than an hour drive to Monterey. Many people enjoy surfing at Cowell Beach, and one of the main attractions is the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, which is called the "World's Best Seaside Amusement park." It features free admission, and the Giant Dipper roller coaster.

Visitors also enjoy the Roaring Camp Railroads, a scenic train ride that takes riders through Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and arrives at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Many families enjoy a day on the water, with the Stagnaros Fishing, Charters and Wale Watching Cruises. Visitors also enjoy the Santa Cruz Food Tour, a guided tour of historic downtown Santa Cruz with five different tasting locations. The tour runs yearly, from March to November.
